So far in 2022

by admin· December 30, 2022· in Animal Rescue· 1 comments
If you want to know your progress then compete with yourself, not others. Everyone’s situation, aims, exposure and struggles are different.  This is my third year documenting  my journey as a nature enthusiast.  One of the highlights of this year is being a finalist for People of Nature Awards in the storytelling section.  I am grateful that my work was considered worthy enough by the esteemed judges to reach the final stage of People of Nature awards.   The metamorphosis from photographer-volunteer- explorer- writer have reached another phase that’s of a communicator by 2022.  2020 and 2021 were quite challenging years in the journey of this nature enthusiast but these years also taught me to adapt to the change.  Here I am sharing some of my learning opportunities and achievements this year.    Writing poems for Science Next Door continued, the year started with the poem on Struggling to support its diversity: Squirrel’s Destinyinspired by the work of the squirrels.of.india. They are trying to share the knowledge of biodiversity in squirrel species and the importance of preserving and recording their presence in various areas in India.  Slowly from 40 poems, step by step I was increasing my collection of poems in Science Next […]

  • Isle of Mull June 6, 2025
With its coastline of 300 miles the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland has breathtaking landscapes along with some incredible wildlife. • Red Tail May 29, 2025
One of my favourite summer visitors to our shores is the Redstart. The word redstart means red tail from old english steort. They are immediately identifiable by their bright orange-red tails which they constantly flick when they land. The female is more brown in colour but still has that distinctive red tail. For this on […]

  • Simplicity is Key May 12, 2025
Simplicity is key when it comes to composing a successful photograph. A well composed image should never look cluttered, and the main focal point or subject should be obvious. When composing an image decide which parts of the scene are most important to you and try hard to exclude any elements that are not, or […]

  • Crafting Your Craft May 2, 2025
Each time you enter nature you always learn something new, whether it be about the subjects behaviour or fieldcraft technic. You must always put the subjects welfare before any images you take. Remembering you are a guest in their world. Nature always knows you’re there way before you even see anything. It’s how you manage […]

With the warming temperatures, lighter evenings and the morning dawns becoming earlier, Spring is upon us. It’s my favourite time of year as the countryside is bursting with life. • Mythical Barn Owls March 8, 2025
There is something so special seeing a wild Barn Owl quartering, hovering with moth like silence while hunting. Flying effortlessly on the wing in the half-light at dawn or dusk. In British folklore, a screeching Barn Owl is believed to predict that a storm or cold weather was imminent. During a storm if a Barn […]

Being at one with nature is truly amazing and with respect, time and effort everyone is capable of witnessing beautiful moments each time they enter the natural world.
